Biography
John P. Dearie is a shareholder of The Dearie Law Firm, P.C. and has been the firm’s managing attorney since 2017.
John is a lifelong New Yorker, born in Manhattan, and raised in the Bronx and Westchester. After graduating from Regis High School in New York City, John attended the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 2005 with a degree in Finance. After college, John worked for a year in the Felony Trial Bureau of the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, after which he began law school at St. John’s University School of Law.
Following graduation from law school in 2009, John worked as an associate attorney at the international law firm of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. While at Willkie, John worked in the Corporate and Financial Services Department where he represented investment firms and large companies in complex financial transactions. In 2011, John joined The Dearie Law Firm, P.C., started 30 years ago by his father, John C. Dearie.
Since joining the firm in 2011, John has represented clients in serious injury and wrongful death construction site, motor vehicle, and premises liability cases. John also represents thousands of individuals, and families of deceased individuals, in claims to the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, recovering for them over $400 million.
