Biography

Shahar Azoulay graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2007 and completed his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2010. At Yale, Shahar served marginalized communities through the Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic (WIRAC), defending workers’ rights and representing indigent individuals with the New Haven Public Defender’s Office. At the Legal Aid Society, he honed his litigation prowess in a fast-paced environment, representing individuals in parole violation hearings on Rikers Island and navigating Supreme Court proceedings across New York City. His tenure in the Criminal Appeals Bureau further refined his skills in analyzing and briefing complex legal issues. Shahar then joined a respected plaintiff’s firm, where he managed personal injury cases, with a specialized focus on protections under New York Labor Law. In May of 2024, he joined The Dearie Law Firm, where he looks forward to continuing his work on behalf of victims and their families.
